1. Aliens EXPOsed (April 26, 8:00 p.m. at Stampede Corral)

Reunited in all their glory, Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), Newt (Carrie Henn), Pvt. “GAME OVER MAN” Hudson (Bill Paxton) and the rest of the cast from the 1986 sci-fi hit Aliens will be having a panel on all things Aliens! So jump on this “express elevator to hell” and revel in their killer stories of Zenomorphs, Space-marines and loveable facehuggers. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster only. 2. Middle-Earth EXPOsed (April 25, 8:00 p.m. at Stampede Corral)

“FLY YOU FOOLS” to this fantasy panel extravaganza! The cast of The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and the CEO of WETA Workshops will be discussing all things Tolkien. From Dragons to Ents and Halflings to wizards, this is will be an “unexpected party” for all who come. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster only.

3. Jim Brynes EXPOsed (April 25, 7:00 p.m. at Boyce Theatre)

Now there will be some who will go the whole of Expo Weekend breathing, dreaming, and consuming all things comic oriented. But the rest of us will probably need a break from that madness. For these people, there will be Jim Brynes EXPOsed, which will provide an acoustic concert by Jim Brynes (Highlander: The Series) for your listening pleasure. Tickets are available through Eventbrite only.

4. POW! Parade of Wonders! (April 25, 11:00 a.m. at Eau Claire YMCA)

If you’ve been wishing for a way to be an active participant of the Calgary Expo, then here is your opportunity! If you register before 4:00 p.m. on April 21, you can be a part of the second annual Calgary Expo Parade. All that is asked of you is that you must be dressed up or in some form of cosplay as per the Expo’s requirements. So pull out the leotards and capes and take to the streets! Register at and show Calgary your inner superhero.

5. The Guests (April 24-27 at Stampede Corral)

What a year it is for guests at the Expo! George Romero (Night of the Living Dead), Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs), Adrian Paul (Highlander), R.L. Stine, Cyanide & Happiness, and the cast of the Original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will all be making appearances throughout the conference.

UPDATE: The Karl Urban (of Star Trek and Dredd) guest appearance has been cancelled.
