LAB COAST, THE MANDATES AND 36? AMONG CALGARY ACTS ANNOUNCED FOR FULL SLED ISLAND 2014 LINE-UP

The weeks inch closer to the eighth annual Sled Island Music & Arts Festival and the full line-up list of more than 250 artists is now out in the open.

Among the acts from right here at home in Calgary include power poppers The Mandates, synthpunk act Teledrome, the unquestionably ambitious 36?, and guitar-pop quintet Lab Coast.

New acts announced hailing from across Canada include:

• Freak Heat Waves
• Ghibli
• Johnny de Courcy
• Jon McKiel
• Maica Mia
• Nervous Talk
• Open Relationship
• Soupcans
• woolworm
• xxx CLVR

This latest round of new performing artists join Spiritualized, Neko Case, St. Vincent, Joel Plaskett Emergency, Jung People, The Julie Ruin, Anciients and Jerusalem in My Heart to name a few.

For those looking for a chuckle, comedy acts announced for this year’s Sled Island Comedy include (with more names to come soon):

The ninth Sled Island Music & Arts Festival takes place June 18-22 at numerous venues throughout Calgary’s downtown core and inner city. Discovery ($199), Discovery Plus ($349) and All Ages ($50) passes are on sale now at SledIsland.com. Select individual tickets will also go on sale via Ticketfly and the festival website on May 2nd.
